Old door:  isn't it ugly?  it IS solid wood and good quality but ugly!

Front door for now...old one came out, new one's ready but we're missing a threshold! Back to the hardware store and more staining and varnished dead ahead!

Here's the new door ready to go - it took up a great deal of space in the garage, now it's leaning against the wall, waiting for installation...

Here's the threshold getting stained and varnished - hopefully we'll have a new front door in by the end of the weekend!

The door frame is getting the stain and varnish treatment as well - this door will be a labor of love and a work of art!!

The challenge here is the transition from porch to door and then to hardwoods - we're choosing some stone to make a small entryway...never enough projects, right?
