New bike arrives:  2004 SV650

bikes 071.jpg (1934719 bytes) The SV comes to us as a theft recovery bike - it's not in bad shape, needs a tear down and rebuild.  That's standard practice for every new bike on the Pappawheelies Team.  Follow the progress while we whip this bike into tip top race shape! bikes 072.jpg (1862989 bytes) Another view of this bike - including some of the fixes the thieves used - shelf paper was the repair of choice - and enough to keep us giggling in the garage while we admired their handy work!
bikes 073.jpg (2178551 bytes) A close up of the shelf paper carbon fiber "pimp" fix for a broken fairing.  Pretty snazzy!! bikes 074.jpg (1995258 bytes) What is the REAL purpose of this shelf paper?  Do people use this for something seen by other people?  I'm picturing all sorts of hideous craft projects...

Race prep begins!

Bike is completely torn down - rebuilding begins

sv6.jpg (2425028 bytes) The teardown and rebuild begins - the frame and swing arm are painted and waiting to be reassembled. sv5.jpg (1982492 bytes) The motor...just waiting...
SV4.jpg (1838438 bytes) the rest of the bike is in these bins.  6 weeks and counting - we'll make it!!

The bike is assembled and the body work begins

Bodywork was a little rough - but before I had hotbodies sponsorship, I'd already purched what is basically a home made set off of Ebay... With 4 race bikes this season - there was LOTS of work to do - bodywork plus spares was overwhelming!  Thank you Tim Boyd for the hard work!!
sv650 009.jpg (1403782 bytes) The tank is on - nice can too!!  It's looking less like a bin of parts and more like a race bike now!! sv650 013.jpg (1287388 bytes) The bodywork - waiting to be drilled and mounted.
sv650 015.jpg (1304001 bytes) Tail section - the roughest piece of the bunch - hopefully nobody will notice! sv650 017.jpg (2073741 bytes) Louie's hard at work - he's a mechanical Genious and my biggest supporter
sv650 024.jpg (1163234 bytes) LOOK!!  It's a Race Bike ... just need some numbers - coming soon! sv650 022.jpg (1282966 bytes) sv650 020.jpg (1959468 bytes)sv650 021.jpg (1902025 bytes)
sv650 023.jpg (1468479 bytes) it's turning YELLOW in here!!

Just playing with the camera OUTSIDE the garage...
